OBC Open TT Series - 2010-Sep-19 - 40km (Fournier)

This morning we had the lowest wind speed ever experienced for a time trial on the Fournier course, so despite high air pressure and a starting temperature of a cool 13°C, not only did Aaron Fillion set a new database best of 51:06 for 40km, but also there were several new all-time category bests established - In particular Aaron Fillion, who would have been even faster had it not been for four cars at the turn around, reduced his Veteran A (30-39 years) Male record from the tougher Calabogie Course by 11 seconds, Hermann Kerckhoff, with 1:03:38 took 3 seconds off of his previous Veteran F (70-79 years) Calabogie record, and Erika Revesz, who did 1:03:30, took 1 second off of her previous mark for the Veteran C (50-59 years) Females. As well, Mary Ajersch is the first Veteran E (70-79) Female and Geoffrey Wright the first Veteran F (80-89 years) Male to do a 40km time trial, and they both set excellent times of 1:16:53 and 1:28:06, respectively. Six of today's riders did the 2010-Aug-15 Fournier time trial, and four of these improved. In all, 5 people improved upon their previous best on the Fournier course and five improved upon there previous database 40km best. It is also of interest to look at the results handicapped in accordance with the British VTTA age/gender standards. As has happened so often during the past decade, Rick Sudac, who, in his sixties, was second today, ranks first in this regard. Congratulations!

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would gladly do the data entry, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as history shows that I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you ! It is strange to me that a bike club would expel one of the most avid cyclists in town because she volunteers a cool cycling service...)
